KK and Suree are multicultural, multi-skilled entrepreneurial innovators with strong business experience, food expertise, and cultural ties to Asia. Being multicultural is a valuable asset to a global opportunity.
Suree Chengpiphat, a Thai national, was born and raised in Bangkok prior to becoming Canadian. She received a B. S. Degree in Nutrition from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, and a Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Ryerson Polytechnic University, Toronto, Canada. She had extensive experience in foodservice administration, nutritional sales and product development before initiating the Soy-n-Joy project. Suree is a true believer and practitioner of good nutrition. She brings her professional credentials in food service hospitality, hands-on experience with authentic Asian foods, and a passion for healthy-indulgent food development to the venture. She has found her "voice" in Soy-n-Joy.
Kai-kong Ng, was a Hong Kong Chinese and later became Canadian. Suree and KK have been married for 33 years. He received a B. Sc. (First Class Honors) Degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the Hong Kong University, an M. S. Degree in Food Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MBA Degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He had held technical and general management positions, and led new project developments, in the following multinational food companies (Vitasoy; Nabisco; Campbell Soup; Artal Food Industries) prior to the Soy-n-Joy commitment:
1. As Deputy Managing Director and Technical Director of Vitasoy:
Developing aseptic drinks and soymilks for the American and Asian markets.
2. As Nabisco's General Manager in China:
Making and selling Nabisco cookies in mainland China.
3. As Business Development Director of Campbell Soup Far East:
Designing and selling Campbell/Swanson Soups targeting Far East markets.
4. As Senior Vice President of Artal Food Industries Ltd (Asia venture arm of Artal NV):
Managing acquisitions and business development in Asia.
KK brings a wealth of resources in strategic vision, entrepreneurial leadership, professional management, marketing creativity and technical expertise to Soy-n-Joy. Like Suree, KK has finally found his "voice" in their conscience-led, vision-set and passion-fed brainchild. By creating and popularizing healthy delights, they better the world's food environment and enhance human well-being. Their personal objectives are to enjoy a long, healthy and happy life through meaningful projects that are personally exciting and rewarding, and contributing to human health and happiness. Surely they embrace life-long learning and commitment.
Suree and KK lead a healthy, active lifestyle. They consume plenty of soy, actively promote the benefits of soy, and work with a passion to see the world benefit more from soy. As an active babyboomer, KK still runs 45 minutes a day and feels and looks at least 15 years younger, if not 20, except for a touch of gray at the temples. They eat smartly, exercise well, work hard, relax in the evenings, and sleep with peace of mind at night. No wonder their youthful-looking daughter, a U.S. CPG marketer and professional food scientist, jokingly said, "My parents just never grow old." And "Haven't you heard of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon?" was her answer to people who failed to appreciate the venture's implications and her parents' dedication.
Suree and KK traveled extensively throughout North America and Asia. Fascinated by the fertile soil for entrepreneurial pursuits in North America, they conceptualized and pilot-studied the Soy-n-Joy opportunity in Canada. This mega-opportunity uniquely capitalizes on their integrated innovative and entrepreneurial strengths, and is favorably tailored to take root and grow, not only in the multicultural metros of North America, but also in all affluent world metro centers, and eventually benefits every corner around the world.
